About Sean + Redirect
Sean
I — Sean Hayford O’Leary — am a high school student in Northfield, MN. I work a bit with web design — being myself responsible for the websites of ARTECH, SAI, Sox the Ox (Sox himself was drawn by someone else), and of course this weblog. I’ve also developed and designed the interfaces for AMID and Lifecloud.
I’ve been less hands-on politically, though it’s certainly an interest of mine. I’m a card-carrying ACLUer but also own two Ann Coulter books. (Fear not — I have no intention of being fair or balanced: the Ann Coulters are in my possession for the sake of schadenfreude only).
Redirect
SDHO Redirect originally began as a blog entitled “Me — Sean Hayford O’Leary” in May 2005. It was primarily a personal blog at the time. It continued under that brand until December 2005 when I renamed it West of London.
At the time, that seemed like a good idea. I was realizing that most of my posts had little to do with me and that was silly to keep calling it “Me.” But there was a problem: I was still recycling my old design. So I made a new one and it was working out pretty well… until I opened it in Internet Explorer. So, after hours upon hours trying to work out the CSS quirks, I just gave up, and this space stayed dormant for a few months. In June 2006, I renamed it (again) Redirect. Being rather flakey, I made a very minor change in January ‘07 to my title by adding my initials to the beginning — that is the domain name after all. And that’s where we are now.
SDHO Redirect is primarily about technology and politics. And to narrow down what I mean by “technology,” pretty much websites and web-apps… occasionally venturing out of that definition. For more info, check out Site Credits.
